Trauma-Informed Hatha Yoga
Offering private and small group yoga sessions with a trauma-informed, nervous system-focused approach—designed to support regulation, embodiment, and healing at your own pace.
Is Trauma-Informed Yoga Right for You?
You might be searching for trauma-informed yoga because traditional yoga classes haven’t felt quite right—or maybe they’ve even felt overwhelming. If you’re living with PTSD, chronic stress, anxiety, or depression, you might notice that certain movements, environments, or instructions can leave you feeling disconnected or dysregulated.
Trauma-informed yoga is different. This approach prioritizes safety, consent, and nervous system regulation, offering a gentle, supportive way to reconnect with your body at your own pace.
You may be looking for trauma-informed yoga if:
You’ve experienced trauma and want to feel safer in your body again
You struggle with hypervigilance, dissociation, or panic symptoms
You want to learn how to manage stress and anxiety through movement and breath
You’re dealing with the emotional and physical effects of long-term stress or burnout
You want a slower, more mindful approach to yoga that centers choice and self-awareness
You’re in therapy and looking for a complementary somatic (body-based) practice
You’re navigating grief, life transitions, or emotional overwhelm
Trauma-informed yoga is a healing practice grounded in nervous system science, mindfulness, and compassionate movement. It’s not about “fixing” you—it’s about helping you build a safer relationship with your body, one breath and one movement at a time.
Why Trauma-Informed Yoga Might Be Exactly What You Need
As both a therapist and a trauma-informed yoga teacher, this isn’t just a practice I offer—it’s a specialty rooted in deep study, clinical understanding, and a commitment to healing the nervous system through the body.
I’ve been trained as a Hatha Yoga Teacher in the Krishnamacharya lineage, with an emphasis on functional movement through Waking Yoga. My entire 200-hour yoga teacher training was trauma-informed from start to finish—centered specifically on the effects of trauma and chronic stress on the body, and how to create a safe, supportive space for students navigating those experiences. I am also a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance.
Trauma-informed yoga is designed to gently support individuals living with PTSD, anxiety, depression, or chronic stress, using movement and breathwork to reestablish a sense of safety, presence, and connection within the body. It’s not about achieving perfect poses—it’s about listening to your body and honoring what it needs in each moment.
Because I offer this practice virtually, it’s also more accessible and consistent, allowing you to show up from the comfort of your own space while still receiving personalized guidance and support. And consistency is key—especially when it comes to nervous system regulation and long-term healing.
Whether you’re hoping to rebuild trust with your body, process trauma somatically, or simply find a grounding, sustainable practice—you’ll be met with compassion, safety, and tools that work.
